It is increasingly demanded in any type of reform, a construction executed in an intelligent and sustainable way, since there is a greater awareness and ecological responsibility in society. Thus, we have prepared a brief introductory explanation of this new concept of sustainable interior design.

The fundamental definition of this term is based on a design of spaces in a sustainable manner, with natural materials that take into account the reduction of energy consumption and overexploitation of resources, mainly.

In addition, materials have to be reused, reducing the generation of waste and the consumption of raw materials. In this sense, it is very important that houses take maximum advantage of energy; for this, the distribution of spaces, natural lighting, the orientation of the home and the use of insulating materials are very important.

Another feature of sustainable interior design is the use of water-based paints that discard harmful materials to incorporate other more natural, like plant’s oils and resins, even to prevent problems of allergies and asthma, because they allow breathing to the home. In the same way, the use of wood without toxic treatments is essential to achieve a comfortable and healthy environment.

Sustainable interior design is a responsible look at the world of design, interiors and decoration that we hope will stay with us forever.
